Chocolate Christmas Kiss Cookies

Our department decided to do a cookie swap at work this year so I was on a mission to come up with something original, tasty and festive. The second I saw candy cane hershey kisses at the grocery store I knew exactly what I wanted to make! I found this recipe for Chocolate Kiss Cookies and tweaked it a bit to add some holiday flavor. I highly recommend trying if you're looking for a cute, Christmasy treat!

Ingredients:

• 1 1/4 cups butter
• 2 cups white sugar
• 2 eggs
• 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 bag candy cane hershey kisses, unwrapped
• 2 candy canes, crushed

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. In large bowl mix butter and sugar till fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla. Mix well.
3. Sift together flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt, and add to creamed mixture.
4. Roll dough into balls about 1 inch in diameter then roll in crushed candy cane.
5. Place balls on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
6. Place unwrapped candy cane kiss in the center of each cookie while still hot.
7. Let cool and enjoy!
